I have always been fascinated by nature and the forms that animals acquire in adapting to it. I have spent my adult life working as a wildlife biologist across western North America while practicing art as a pastime. Over the course of my career, I developed a deep appreciation for the individual characteristics and external factors that influence each animal’s behavior and ecology. Now, it is my hope to express some of this perspective through sculpture.

I named my small basement studio at the borders of Yellowstone National Park after my lifelong passion for prehistoric beasts and the nearby Mammoth Hot Springs. Within this space, my goal is to express the convergence of form with function, emotion, and behavior in the natural world.

I use a variety of tools to detail texture into my pieces, providing a dynamic surface for capturing glazes and other colorants.
